Scheduled Hours vs Hours Worked
Scheduled hours are what the roster says. Use them for salary conversion, benefits eligibility, and FTE counts.
Hours worked are what the FLSA cares about. Only these trigger overtime — paid leave, holidays, and unpaid meal periods are excluded.
The gap is where money is lost. Ten unrecorded minutes a day is 43 hours a year. At $25 an hour with an overtime multiplier, that is well over $1,600.
