Time Card Red Flags

Identical punches every day. Real punches vary. A card that reads 8:00–4:30 for six months usually means someone typed the schedule instead of the clock.

Auto-deducted meals. If the system removes 30 minutes whether or not you took lunch, the working lunches are unpaid work.

Edits without notice. Supervisor edits are legal, but you should be told and the original punch should remain in the audit trail.

Averaged weeks. 46 hours plus 34 hours is 6 overtime hours, not zero. Overtime is per workweek.
