Holiday Overtime Calculator
A holiday week has two different premiums running at once, and payroll systems often blur them. Enter your hours to see holiday premium pay and overtime separately — and whether the paid holiday you took off counts toward 40 hours.

Gross before withholding. Holiday premium comes from policy or contract, not federal law.
Two premiums, two different sources
Holiday premium pay is a promise your employer made. Overtime is a legal obligation triggered by hours worked past forty. They can both land in the same week, and confusing them is how workers end up accepting one when they were owed both.
Paid holidays you did not work
Federal law counts only hours actually worked toward the forty-hour threshold, so a paid day off does not create overtime even though it swells the stub. Plenty of union contracts are more generous — the checkbox above models that version so you can compare both readings against your agreement. More detail sits in our guide to overtime on holidays.
Check the holiday week line by line
Use the split above as a checklist against your pay stub. For the plain holiday-rate question use the holiday pay calculator; for double-time states use the double time calculator; for the after-tax figure use the overtime tax calculator.
