Your Year
Planning estimate using 2026 rates. Your actual W-2 depends on your Form W-4 and employer setup.
Reading a W-2 After a Heavy Overtime Year
Overtime never gets its own box. It flows into Boxes 1, 3, 5 and 16 with everything else, which is why people who worked hundreds of premium hours sometimes suspect an error when the W-2 arrives. The check is simple: your final stub of the year should reconcile to the cent, and any gap is nearly always a pre-tax deduction you forgot about.
Rebuild the wage side with the gross pay calculator, then check withholding with the federal tax calculator and FICA calculator. Contractor instead of employee? Use the 1099 tax calculator. The W-2 reading guide covers each box in order.
